Last term we focused on how we express ourselves.
In term 3, I expressed myself from the Mohaka montage, I like listening to music and performing in groups so I found it quite amusing when our class sang in front of the whole of Mohaka and the student's parents.
I think art is a good influence to audiences because it is inspiring and it makes people think about lots of stuff.
I think art is based on who the person is, they use their own opinions to create pieces of art, others might think otherwise because everyone is different.
I thought I used caring when we did the Mohak montage because I encouraged others to join in and have fun.
I thought that singing a song about our class is a really creative way to express ourselves as a classroom.

Timetable Week 6
This week we made another timetable, it contained some must dos and can dos. Our must dos were doing an algebra worksheet, writing video, maths activities, poems and a blog post. we also had can dos like digi awards and others.
The one at the top is called it makes sense and the bottom one is called newspaper poems.
The newspaper one was quite unique because I have never done it before. The algebra worksheets were quite difficult to start with then I found a way to do them. The initials logo was easy but it takes while to do.
It was quite a challenge to finish everything because I was away for one of the days.

Why Homework is a Waste of time
For my speech did why homework is a waste of time. I chose this because I really dislike homework and I know most of my class does aswell.
I have learnt that you should always try your best and don't be afraid to go up there and persuade people about things you are interested in. Also I have learnt that you get nervous in the first paragraph then you get the hang of it. Practice a lot.
If I could add something it would be a rhetorical question. I would replace a rhetorical question into the end saying I bet this convinced all you parents. I would get rid of some of the boring parts.

Mohaka Markets
On the 23rd of June Mohaka markets finally took place. All of the food and drinks looked delicious.
In my group we had 5 people, Jared, Tyler, Jonty, Toby and I.To make all the food we had to put $15 into making the food. We were selling sherbet and lollipops, churros and toffee apples. For the previous weeks before the markets we had to make business plans.
Jared and I make the sherbet, Jonty made the toffee apples and Tyler made the churros.
It was a really interesting learning experience because we have never made markets to sell things.
At around lunch time we ended up selling out. All 36 cups of our sherbet and lollipops, our 32 cups of churros and our 10 toffee apples. We ended up making $136.10. My prediction was round $80 dollars. We got to take $21.10 each and $30.60 went to charity.

Text Ex
In week 2 we made a Text Ex timetable for week 3. It had to contain 2 writers notebook tasks, 1 workshop, 1 follow up, 10 minutes on Grammar Ninja, read the pages for our Literature Circles and the Literature Circles activity.
I did the sentence structure workshop. We learned how to do simple and compound sentences better. This is my simple sentence: Archibald was seen as a coward. this is my compound: Archibald Baxter was terrified by war so he was seen as a coward. For my writer's notebook 1 activity I made a machine that stopped my parents from waking me up. I had a lock that you could only open from the inside and soundproof headphones. For writer's notebook 2 I had to draw what it would look like from the perspective of my shoe. I drew a piece of gum, a feather and some stones.

Mixed Media Art Reflection
Over the past few weeks we have been learning about Mixed Media Art.
What is Mixed Media Art?
It is when you draw something and you use heaps of different materials to make it three dimensional.
The materials you use are like newspaper, foam, buttons, string, watery paint, crayons, gesso, PVA glue, cloths and many more resources.
Step 1. Watch a video on how to draw a face.
Step 2. Sketch out a face, neck and shoulders as your plan.
Step 3. Cover the whole paper with newspaper.
Step 4 Draw a face, neck and shoulders on top of the newspaper.
Step 5. Paint the background, face, neck and shoulders.
Step 6. Decorate it with materials.
Step 7. Use a word and have sentences that relate to it. For example I used sporty as my word and sentences that linked to that word about me,

Maths Term 2 Week 1/2 Reflection
In week 1 we made another timetable. It will timetable from Tuesday the 3rd to Thursday 12th May.
I attended two workshops. Converting between fractions/decimals and percentages and Using fractional thinking to solve ratio problems. We had to complete 3 rich tasks, some mathletics tasks, 2 workshops, 2 follow ups and a blog post.
In the converting fractions, decimals and percentages workshop. I learnt how to convert the 3. eg if you had 0.13 as a decimal to convert it into percentage you times it by 100 0.13x100 = 13%
13% converted to a fraction = 13/100 because you are doing it out of 100. In using fractional thinking to solve ratio problems. One of the problem is: How many blue cars would there be if there were 24 silver? I had a guess and it was 21. The correct answer is 16. I found this one was really challenging. I did 3 rich tasks. I did 1, 2 and 3. For rich task one I had to give 5 reasons why someone had measured a basketbalI court and got 19.5 instead of 20. I found rich task two easy because I have learnt about what I needed to do before.
Rich task three was quite easy because it was based on rugby points and I play rugby.

Maths Week 9/10
Math Week 9/10.
In weeks 9 and 10 we made a timetable that would make us to the end of week 10. The timetable was 7 days long. I attended workshops where I learnt how to multiply fractions and dividing whole numbers and decimals by using proportional adjustment.
The things I had in my timetable were 1 rich task, 2 workshops, 2 follow ups, 1 knowledge video, basic facts and a blog post.
In the multiplying fractions workshop I learnt to multiply fractions so I can work it out. So first you need to get the 2 fractions e.g 2/4 and 3/5 you put the smaller fraction on the top and the bigger one of the bottom then times them e.g 2x4=8 3x5=15 so that means the fraction is 8/15. This is important to know because if you try it other ways there is a chance you will get it incorrect.
In the dividing whole numbers workshop I learnt to divide big numbers easily. An example of a problem I had to solve was 192 divided by 32. I divided both of the numbers by 2 so it was 96 divided by 16 I made it even smaller by dividing it again into 48 divided by 8=6.
I found multiplying fractions difficult at the start of the workshop because we had learnt it before but I forgot how to do it.
I found dividing whole numbers easy because I am good at division and it was basically a different version of my favorite strategy.
Next time I would like to be a bit more organise with my timetable because I put some things down that were on another day.

Maths Week 4
In week 4 we made a maths time table.
We got to choose things to do for the week. We had to do workshops that are around your stage level.
We had to do a workshop and then a follow up activity. We also do mathletics to practice basic facts and knowledge practice. For our stage 8 addition workshop we were doing negative numbers and normal numbers.
